Driving lessons prices definitely do not come cheap these days. Uh uh. I'm thinking that maybe learning to ride a motorcycle would be cheaper (that's if you're single or have a partner. Wouldn't work if you had children obviously). If I had the courage, I think I'd much rather learn how to ride a motorbike. I'd prefer to live in a suburb rather than a city if I had a bike 'cos I think it's pretty dangerous riding one in London. London's mad. Some car/lorry drivers can be pretty reckless. I've seen some drivers jump red lights when people are just about to cross. When I've been on the bus, I've also seen how precariously close some drivers get to motor-bikers and even cyclists. So, yes, the suburb would suit me better if I had a bike (though I think I might get bored living in the suburbs).
I'd learn to ride a motorbike not just 'cos of ever-increasing driving lessons prices, but because I think it would be way cooler. Once I qualified, I'd hit Route 66 and wear a pretend beard like Dennis Hopper. Boooorn to be wiiiii-iiiiiild! And yes, I'm a woman but I would sooo rock that pretend beard like it was my very own!I wonder if driving lessons prices will ever come down? It would be cause for one big hoopla of a celebration. It's a bit like London Transport - can you ever imagine the price of a travel card coming down??? I read somewhere that the cost of railcards are due to go down by about £8 a year. £8 a year? They shouldn't have bothered. I guess it's better than nothing though.I've never taken a driving test and I'm not ashamed of that fact. Why do that when I can get around quite easily via bus or train? I guess if I didn't live in a city, I might consider learning how to drive. There are many towns where buses come once every hour. I imagine it would be a nightmare for someone without a car.
If, by some miracle, I was able to fork out the money for the exorbitant driving lessons prices, I'd probably learn auto rather than manual. It's much easier, I reckon. But I wonder if there are as many cars that run on auto? I mean, if I learnt to drive an automatic and decided to buy a car, would I have as many models to choose from as someone who drove manually? Hmm.
